Period of Contract: Fixed Term to 31st March 2019
Hours: 37 hrs a week, Monday - Friday
Location: Office based (Leyland) with travel across the County and occasionally the North West or Nationally

Lancashire Sport Partnership is looking to recruit a highly-motivated individual to contribute to the achievement of our new strategy and in particular to the development and delivery of our European-funded More Positive Together (MPT) programme. MPT is a partnership initiative which includes 12 Social Housing organisations, Newground, the Princes Trust and Groundwork. The project will support unemployed residents, in deprived areas of the County, with a range of support and activities, to help them improve their employment prospects.
The Project and Volunteer Support Officer will work closely with the Relationship Manager leading the project. The role will provide a range of administrative support to the project’s geographical (cluster) leads and the mentors who will be directly supporting participants throughout their journey. This will include collating and reporting project data and supporting the collection of accurate financial records by partners. This role will also ensure that those volunteering in sport and physical activity are well supported and developed. Other responsibilities will include the production of case studies to promote the project and the organisation of cluster events and meetings, as required.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
- A high level of interpersonal and presentational skills
- Ability to enthuse, motivate and build strong relationships with partners and/ or customers
- Ability to collate, review and analyse information in order to make informed decisions
- Understanding of / experience of working with volunteers, clubs and the voluntary sector
- Ability to meet agreed personal and team targets and deadlines
- A commitment to continuous self-development
- A good level of IT skills
- Ability to work a flexible working week, available at weekends and in the evening as required.
