Creating a New Generation of Physically Active People

Strategy 2005-2009

The new April 2007 to March 2008 headline targets have now been set and approved by the Partnership Board and by Sport England North West.

These headline targets have been set after consultation with key stakeholders in the Greater Manchester Sports Partnership, and are set to be a HEADLINE reflection of the 5 delivery themes of the 'New Generation' strategy.  There are numerous projects and sub-targets that contribute to these headline aims, which will be published via our newsletter on a quarterly basis.  To sign up to our newsletter, click here.

The targets are as follows:

Participation

16,293 new participants doing 3 x 30 mins a week. (To be measured by Active People Survey and population data)

Theme 1

Total of £6million released into SPAAs. (£2million by Sport England and £4million match funding) This is not all funds, but the target for this year.

Theme 2

85 more clubs to be accredited. (In total, 344 clubs in Greater Manchester to be accredited)

Theme 3

300 active coaches across Greater Manchester. 

100 volunteers active via GreaterSport's volunteering programme.

Theme 4

400,000 hits on www.greatersport.co.uk.

9.6 million circulation (Partnership target) of press coverage

Theme 5

All 10 Local Authorities sharing data.

PESSCL data received by GreaterSport annually from 21 School Sports Partnership.

National Governing Body for Sport data received by GreaterSport at least annually from Whole Sport Plan / One Stop Plan NGB's.
