High Quality School Club Links

What is the ‘High Quality School Club Link’ programme
The programme is designed to provide parents and children with a ‘does what it says on the tin’, minimum quality standard for school to club links.

Linking clubs to schools is one of many ways of encouraging children to take part in sport outside of school hours, to get them into the habit of being active for life.

The standard asks clubs and school to work together to come to an agreement for them to be linked to each other, while at the same time, asking them to agree to a pre-defined set of minimum standards.  This makes it easier for everyone to understand what they should be expected.

What are the benefits for my club?
Once you have been awarded the standard, you will get the following benefits:

An equal balance of school input and club input is advocated

How can my club get the ‘High Quality School Club Link’ mark?
You will need to get in touch with your Local Authority or County Sports Partnership.  Contact details for those currently administering the programme can be found here.

If your area does not currently run the programme, please contact GreaterSport on 0161 223 1002 who will talk this through with you.

Don’t have Clubmark?
In order to achieve the standard, your club should have Clubmark, or be working towards completing it in the next 12 months.

Clubmark is a cross-sport quality accreditation for clubs with junior sections.  To achieve the accreditation, clubs need to have certain minimum operating criteria in place. (N.B. Football run the Charter Standard Scheme, which for the purpose of this programme is accepted an accreditation standard.)

For more information on the above accreditation schemes and/or how your club can register to work towards achieving them please go to the relevant website www.clubmark.org.uk or www.thefa.com/GrassrootsNew/CharterStandard/Club.
