What is the ‘High Quality School Club Link’ programme
The programme is designed to provide parents and children with a ‘does what it says on the tin’, minimum quality standard for school to club links.
Linking clubs to schools is one of many ways of encouraging children to take part in sport outside of school hours, to get them into the habit of being active for life.
The standard asks clubs and school to work together to come to an agreement for them to be linked to each other, while at the same time, asking them to agree to a pre-defined set of minimum standards. This makes it easier for everyone to understand what they should be expected.
I have received a form, what do I do with it?
In order to get the information published on the form onto our databases, website and so that we can send a reminder letter before the renewal date, please take a copy of the form for your records and send the original to your local County Sports Partnership. A list of partnerships involved in the scheme is available by clicking here. If your CSP is not featured, please send the details to School Club Links, GreaterSport, Belle Vue Athletics Centre, Pink Bank Lane, Manchester, M12 5GL. GreaterSport will then issue a certificate. Should you have any questions, please contact GreaterSport on 0161 223 1002 or email schoolclublinks@greatersport.co.uk.
Currently, GreaterSport centrally coordinate the database, website and reminder letter services for the programme, and actively encourage the roll out of the programme to other areas in England. Should you be interested in rolling the programme out in your CSP area, please contact GreaterSport on 0161 223 1002.
