High Quality School Club Links

What are the benefits of the ‘High Quality School Club Link’ programme?

The programme is focussed on making the transition between school and community sport easier.  By linking schools to community sports clubs, schools can more actively encourage children to do more sport outside of school, and it means that parents have a source of clubs that the school can recommend.

The ‘High Quality School Club Links’ programme asks school and clubs, when working together, to achieve a minimum set of standards, so that when parents and children are making decisions about which clubs they might like to attend, they are assured about the level of quality they are getting.

Why was the programme started?
The programme was established by the Greater Manchester Sports Partnership PESSCL group.  The group identified that there was no existing, consistent standard that could be used by a number of organisations including Local Authorities, County Sports Partnerships, Schools, Clubs, SSPs and NGBs to give consistent quality assurance to parents and children in making decisions about which clubs could be attended outside of schools.
