After the success of last year’s GM Moving Investment scheme launch is back, but this time with a theme around women and girls and the This Girl Can campaign.

This Girl Can is a national campaign developed by Sport England and a wide range of partnership organisations. It’s a celebration of active women up and down the country who are doing their thing no matter how well they do it, how they look or even how red their face gets.

The campaign is relaunching in January 2017 and is the second part of something much bigger, broader and longer, with the ‘This Girl Can’ message across the country hoping to create a lasting behavioural change and impact in local communities.

GreaterSport want to maximise the impact of the national campaign and to do this, we need you!

Community Grants

In order to support a local focus on the campaign, we are offering grants to groups or organisations of up to £1,000 to put on activities for females.

What’s the grant for?

We want to inspire creativity and local ownership within communities. Have you got an idea to encourage females to get active? Do you need to advertise and promote it? Do you need to get some equipment, rent a hall and hire an instructor? All of these things can be paid for with your grant

What activities can I do?

Ideally, we would like projects to run for a few weeks at least initially. IE: We are not looking to fund one off events but an event could be a celebration at the end of a project or a platform to launch and inspire people to join your project. Projects need to be based around physical activity and sport from Dance to Diving, Boxing to Bowls.

How do I apply?

The GM Moving Investment scheme will be open for applications from January 23rd to February 24th

Activities can take place on from March 2017 – September 2017.

It is advised to have a conversation with us before you make an application so we can help you shape your project and then you can apply by completing the application form on the right hand side.
