Safeguarding Children Information on safeguarding children in sport and physical activity
GreaterSport takes the welfare of children and young people very seriously, which is why we’ve set up these pages on our website dedicated to their protection. All documents referred to in this section of the website can be downloaded or linked to via the ‘Links and Downloads’ box. In the Links and Downloads section below, you will see our Child Protection statements. You can also request full copies of our policy and procedures if you wish. If you are a parent who wants to ensure that their child has the most positive experience within sport the information sheet below is designed to help. It provides tips and information on how parents can choose the right sports club for their child, how to support their child in sport and how they can get more involved with their child’s sport. Children in sport: A guide for parents & carers The Department for Culture Media and Sport has also produced a leaflet called “Helping keep your child safe in sport” – download the leaflet (pdf, 247Kb) To view any safeguarding courses we are aware of running in the area please refer to the link below which will take you to our Find A Course page. Greater Manchester Sports Partnership welcomes questions about our activities and the safety of the environment in which our activities take place. We have a child protection policy, including statement on, and guidelines about, keeping children safe.
