Greater Manchester Sports Awards 'School Commitment to PE and Sport Award' Sponsor and Finalists Announced

The 17th annual Greater Manchester Sports Awards are taking place on Friday 17th November, at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford. The event celebrates the outstanding commitment and achievements made in physical activity and sport across the Greater Manchester area. BBC Radio Manchester presenter Chelsea Norris is the night’s host, and former Manchester United defender Gary Neville is the guest speaker. Winners from the 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester will be competing across eight separate awards on the night. GreaterSport will showcase one category a day in the run up to the event this Friday.
The School Commitment to PE and Sport Award acknowledges the numerous innovative programmes which schools use to encourage high participation rates in physical activity. All finalists are committed to improving both the physical and mental wellbeing of their students through PE. These schools also offer their pupils the opportunity to develop and learn though sports, both during and after school.

The award’s sponsors, Premier Education, are the UK’s premier sport and physical activity provider. Working in 15% of English schools, their network of over 1,200 dedicated and qualified Activity Professionals deliver engaging sports, performing arts and health & wellbeing programmes that focus on the holistic development of the children entrusted in their care.
