Clubmark Criteria Guidance Pack Clubmark and runningsports

Clubmark, in conjunction with runningsports, has published a Clubmark Criteria Guidance Pack to help those clubs thinking of applying for Clubmark or who have started the accreditation journey.

Clubmark continues to go from strength to strength! It is built around a set of core criteria, which ensures that accredited clubs operate to a set of consistent and accepted minimum operating standards. Promoted and carefully branded, by Sport England, Clubmark is now universally recognised by clubs wishing to show good practice and demonstrate commitment in developing young people within their club.

Clubmark criteria encompasses the 4 areas below:

  • Playing/participation programme
  • Duty of care and safeguarding and protecting children
  • Knowing your club and its community
  • Club management

The Criteria Guidance Pack is designed to be used directly by clubs themselves or sports development officers supporting clubs through the process. It is always advisable to check directly with your national governing body as to whether you need to evidence any additional criteria which may be sport specific.

The document looks at each stage of the criteria, giving examples of evidence and tools to support criteria, e.g. suggested workshops, e-learning courses and which Clubmark templates to use.
