GMPA Coaching Legacy for Coaches Educate and qualify people to leave a lasting legacy of skilled coaches

In June 2010 the Greater Manchester Police Authority (GMPA) approached GreaterSport to explore opportunities to work together and provide support to enhance the quality and quantity of Greater Manchester athletes and coaches. Through recent needs analysis with local clubs in Greater Manchester, it has been identified that there is a shortage of local coaches to deliver sessions for young people. GMPA/Ask have committed £17,000 to support the development of local coaches who live and coach in identified wards in each of the 10 boroughs. Funding from the GMPA/Ask/Goodman would provide approximately 50% of the costs for the identified individuals to attend a National Governing Body (NGB) coaching qualification (up to £200).
