Greater Manchester Sports Fund June 2005 to March 2012

The Greater Manchester Sports Fund  ran from June 2005 to March 2012 and helped many young people from Greater Manchester achieve their potential and reach their aspirations through funding their sporting activities.

This fund is now CLOSED

The Greater Manchester Sports Fund was run in partnership with the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA) and fund manager The Community Foundation for Greater Manchester.

Greater Manchester Sports Fund helped aspiring young sportsmen and women through the support invested by AGMA, by individual donors, corporate partners and other grant-giving trusts. The fund worked with National Governing Bodies of Sport and Local Authority Sports Development Officers to identify young athletes in need of financial support to help them to achieve their sporting potential. This intervention can often be the difference between a talented athlete staying with their chosen sport or quitting.
