Health Promotion Campaigns
The Greater Manchester Network of Sport and Health is working to support the improvement of population health in Greater Manchester.
The Greater Manchester Health Commission strategic priorities are:
- Alcohol
- Cancer
- Chronic Heart Disease
- Health Inequalities
- Unhealthy Weight
- Metal Ill-health
- Tobacco
Taking action against sun burn can protect against skin cancer, and this summer the Network are promoting sun awareness messages to sports participants, coaches, officials, workforce and spectators. See the attached article and flyer for more information.
From the start of the new football season the Network will be helping to promote bowel cancer screening. Pitchside hoardings will be displayed in many of the football stadia across Greater Manchester and there will be photos with players promoting the freephone number. A leaflet aboutt he screening can be downloaded below. Links will also be made to the Blue September campaign.
