Sport Unlimited is an integral part of the Government’s 5 hour sports offer for Children and Young People. The programme targets 5-19 year olds from the partially engaged segment (approximately 50% of young people) through the provision of a range of attractive and sustainable sporting opportunities. The funding aims to stimulate, increase and sustain participation via the provision of a supply chain of sporting activities that will match, as well as generate, demand from young people.

Sport Unlimited aims to get 56,584 young people taking part in active and sustainable sporting activities across Greater Manchester over the delivery period 2008 to 2011. For 2009/2010 (year 2), this equates to 21,903 children and young people.
