Stockport Basketball Clubs Chairman, Jim Bennison has been crowned Unsung Hero of the Year for Stockport.
Jim's work over the last 40 years has been a huge benefit to Stockport and Greater Manchester, covering all aspects of the sport from schools basketball, community and performance basketball through to engaging participants long after they have finished playing basketball.
Jim’s work continued by putting the Club through the Clubmark process and managed to secure the accreditation and England Basketball’s 4star accreditation, making it official – Stockport is one of the country’s leading clubs, and Jim one of the countries leading individuals for basketball.Having been succesful locally, Jim has been nominated for Greater Manchester's Unsung Hero award which will be decided in April.
