Masters Rugby League Launched
Rugby League has always deemed to be a young persons sport, until now! Masters Rugby League is to be launched and is strictly for discerning gentleman aged 35 and over. A variety of different coloured shorts for the range of age categories – gold shorts for anyone 60 or over that signify he can’t be tackled and just stopped by a touch.
The RFL are currently recruiting teams and players for a series of ‘Masters’ games over the 2008 summer period. For further information on the programme click here.

Women & Girls in Rugby League
A series of exciting development programmes have taken girls' Rugby League activity to a new level. Opportunities to play exist in a variety of areas within the sport including Amateur Clubs, Combined Services, Schools and Universities.
But you don't have to be a player to get involved. Coaches, Volunteers and Match Officials are all needed to support the growing popularity of the female game.

Rugby League community development work is structured around Service Areas.
Each Service Area is managed by a steering group at which all Rugby League agencies in the area and other appropriate partners are represented. The group will normally elect its co-ordinator and will manage designated Rugby League activity. In some cases, the Service Area Coordinator may be employed full time by the Local Authority. Action Groups are sub groups of the Service Area, which deal with specific issued such as the development of Women & Girls Rugby League. Each member of the steering group will report back to their action group.
