Mini Tennis Red is the first stage of Mini Tennis and is very important for building skills and confidence. The emphasis is on fundamental sporting skills such as movement and co-ordination, and an introduction to rallying and playing the game.
Mini Tennis Red competitions are a maximum of 2-3 hours long. The rules and regulations for the Open Tournaments are as follows.
Age Limit: 8 & Under, for children born 1997 or later (Age Groups for the Tournaments are determined by a player's age DURING 2005)
Court Size: 12 x 6m or 11x5m
Ball Type Indoor Play: 8cm sponge ball
Ball Type Outdoor Play: large, gentle low-bounce Red tennis ball.
Racquets: 17"-23"
Scoring: Tie break game to 7, may be extended to 11. Depending on the time available the best of 3 tie break games may be played
