National Governing Body: The British Triathlon Federation
The British Triathlon Federation is the national governing body for the sport of triathlon in Great Britain. The British Triathlon Federation's members are comprised of Triathlon England, triathlonscotland and Welsh Triathlon.
Triathlon England is the National Governing Body for the sport of Triathlon in England as recognised by the British Triathlon Federation, Sport England and the Commonwealth Games Council for England.
Triathlon England is managed by a Board of Directors appointed by a Council formed by the nine regions of England. These regions correspond with the nine Government Office Regions established in 1988.

The sport of Triathlon has development staff deployed throughout England, Scotland and Wales. Their role is to facilitate the development of Triathlon within their areas in pursuit of the following objectives:

increasing participation in the sport;

developing the number of quality assured clubs;

increasing the numbers of triathletes in clubs;

developing the number of accredited triathlon coaches;

encouraging volunteering in the sport;

developing pathways for young people in the sport.

Club Accreditation Scheme: ClubMark and STAR Mark
The STAR Club Scheme is a club development tool for Senior Triathlon clubs. It has been developed in consultation with clubs around the country and is based on the very successful Clubmark scheme, launched for Junior clubs in 2002.

National Disability Triathlon Project
The British Triathlon National Disability Triathlon Project has seen the development of a classification system for disabled triathletes, trained classifiers, produced a modified rules book, and is supporting the delivering of a series of inclusive races throughout the country.
