GMPTE
Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive (GMPTE) is delighted to be supporting the Manchester Youth Games for the third year running.
GMPTE is responsible for overseeing public transport in Greater Manchester and, as such, will be playing an important part in getting many of the competitors and their supporters to and from the Games.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish every participant the very best of luck.
Being an official Associate of the Games is just one of the many ways GMPTE aims to encourage young people to use public transport in Greater Manchester.
We have a website – www.goto.org.uk – that is dedicated to showing teenagers the best ways of getting around the region: by bus, train or tram.
By logging on, you can find out about free travel in Manchester city centre, take part in surveys, read about environmental issues and plan your journeys.
GMPTE is committed to helping young people to get to school, college, work-related learning and social events by public transport. Our three-year youth strategy aims to make sure that children and young people in Greater Manchester can get the most out of their bus, train and tram network.
By helping young people make healthy transport choices and feel safe on affordable, secure public transport, and by ensuring that their opinions are valued, we hope that today’s youth will become tomorrow’s passengers.
