This was my first year at the Games, I went with my friends Emily, Jessica, and Katie. We all won medals in the Judo Competition. It was a fantastic experience.

I used to love competing in the youth games. It was different to all the other competitions i did. The atmosphere was more exciting and there was always more spectators, which encouraged me to run faster and jump further when i did the triple jump and won it!! I wasn't even meant to do it, but so glad i did do it because i loved standing on the podium! Good luck to anyone who is competing in this years youth games, i'm sure you will love every minute of it.

We've been looking through our images from the past few years of the Games, here are a few from behind the scenes. This one is Calum - he looks after basketball, and here he is at the Games in 2007!

I have been involved in helping organise the Greater Manchester Youth Games for three years now as the marketing and pr person, and I am always staggered at how fantastic the event is!! Good luck to everyone taking part in this years Games, we know it is going to be the best one yet! One of the best bits of being involved in the Games is working with our Ambassadors....last year I was lucky enough to meet Jason Queally at the opening of the Edinburgh Bicycle Cooperative store in Manchester...pic is attached!
