| I competed in the GMYG when i was younger and thouroughly enjoyed the event. I think it is important for children and young people to have the opportunity to compete against other boroughs in such a high profile event. This will be my 3rd year of supporting the Youth Games. Lets hope we can build on from last years games and bring even more medals home. Good Luck Team Wigan !!! |

![]() | 'Team Wigan' Training Camps were held recently in preparation for the main event. All the youngsters involved had a fantastic day, and as you can see the Sports Development Team were out in force!! |
| I have been involved in the Youth Games for the last 5 years through working at Oldham Sports Development and now Wigan Sports Development. I was never aware of the Youth Games as a child but wish I had as I always enjoy going to the games and the atmosphere during the day. Come on Team Wigan!!! |
| I was present at the GMYG last year for the first time. This following a number of years involved in the Lancashire Youth Games. To say the Greater Manchester version is more competitive is an understatement!! Though I suppose a bit of friendly competition doesn't do anybody any harm... Best of luck to all the participants this year. And in particular go 'Team Wigan'!! |
