Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 Greater Manchester Sports Awards event planned for November, has been cancelled. However we will still be celebrating and shining a spotlight on the role sport and physical activity plays in changing lives, just in a different way. We'll be gathering and sharing inspirational stories from people and organisations across our great city region about how they are helping to #KeepGMMoving through social media and our website.
We will be celebrating these success stories throughout the week in which the 20th annual Greater Manchester Sports Awards were due to be hosted – from the 16th-20th November. If you have a story of that you would like to feature as part of our celebration event, then please fill the form below; unfortunately, we won't be able to share every story that we receive, we will be in touch if we would like to know more information in order to share your story.
We have created a number of categories for you to share your stories with us;
1. Have you/someone you know achieved an outstanding sporting achievement in a competitive environment?
We want to celebrate the sporting achievements that happened before lockdown, and that happen as lockdown eases and competitive sport returns.
2. Have you/someone you know got moving more during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown?
Share stories of how you, or people you work with have got moving during coronavirus lockdown.
3. Have you/someone you know supported people to move more during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown?
Perhaps you’ve run online classes, delivered activity leaflets around your neighbourhood, got your neighbours involved in regular street dance class or has your organisation adapted to keep people moving remotely.
4. Have you/someone you know been inspired to do something remarkable for your community or a community organisation?
Perhaps you’ve supported your neighbour to take up a daily walk or skipped, walked, jumped, or hopped to raise money for a local cause. We want to celebrate the physical activity feats people have undertaken to support their community, or the country, through the coronavirus pandemic.
