Partners working together on Greater Manchester (GM) Moving wish to invite providers to a collaboration and engagement event, as we look to explore workforce requirements in developing fully inclusive access to opportunities and create environments that enable disabled people to live active lives.
The aim is to provide a high-quality workforce development programme to develop the skills required of people working and living within the whole system to enable Greater Manchester to be fully inclusive in the way they work. The people we will look to support will come from a range of organisations and communities, across the whole system.
Within Greater Manchester we have the right people to support this journey and this engagement event is an opportunity for interested providers to learn more about GM Moving and our vision for this movement; to develop an understanding of what we are trying to achieve, and to consider their potential contribution to it.
We are engaging with a range of organisations at this stage, to seek creative input into a programme brief. This will help us to vision, scope and shape some exciting and innovative plans for this work. We recognise that we don’t know what we don’t know! It is also an opportunity for you to get to know potential collaborators, for this and other work.
What we hope to achieve together through facilitating conversations and gaining insights is to shape a brief that we would launch in early 2021 for an organisation, or groups of organisations, to respond to. Following our procurement process we would appoint a successful organisation to deliver this from April 2021.
We recognise that it is an unusual approach; to invite ‘competitors’ into a room to collaborate ahead of a procurement process. However, we have taken this creative dialogue approach with other work with great outcomes. Like-minded people have entered into the spirit of it. They have collaborated and shared, which has benefited the quality of the brief, the work and the relationships everyone has developed along the way.
Contract details: The contract term will commence in April 2021 and run until 31st March 2022. There is the possibility to an extension to the work beyond this.
It is proposed that there will be one contract awarded to cover the whole scope of the work, but it unlikely that all of our needs can be catered for by one organisation alone. As such, we will welcome consortia bids and other collaborative approaches.
There are a limited number of places available so numbers will be restricted to 2 people per organisation.
