Sharon Skade

Under 5's Training and Development Officer

With a background in sports coaching, devising and delivering physical activity programmes for families in Stockport, Sharon became aware of a gap in the provision within nurseries and Children’s Centre’s regarding the awareness of the important role and positive impact of Physical Development in all areas of a child’s learning and development. In order to understand more fully the theories involved in child development, to complement her coaching qualifications, Sharon completed a BA Degree in Childhood Studies passing with First Class Honours. This has enabled Sharon to design appropriate bespoke training and development opportunities for a multi-agency early years workforce. Sharon is passionate about changing lives through physical activity and sport and inspires colleagues across Greater Manchester with her interactive early year’s physical activity training sessions and CPD opportunities.

Rhiannon Adams

Under 5's Physical Activity Development Officer

Having worked in marketing and then early years education for the past 18 years, Rhiannon's role focuses on improving opportunities for physical activity for babies and young children across Greater Manchester. Children learn better, socialise easier, become stronger, and are more ready for the demands of school life if they have been given the opportunities to be physically active from a very early age. Rhiannon's aim is to bring together a multi-agency workforce across Greater Manchester and to help them to garner the impetus and expertise to deliver better futures for our children through physical activity.

Louise Robbins

Development Manager (Physical Activity)

My primary role is to increase participation in physical activity among adults in Greater Manchester. I work with a range of partners to raise the profile of physical activity, promote the strategic and individual benefits of increased activity and to provide and co-ordinate new opportunities for people to be physically active. I am currently working on the development of a Physical Activity and sport strategy for Greater Manchester.

As part of my role I lead the work of the Physical Activity Hub within GreaterSport, working to ensure that a physically active lifestyle from birth to adulthood is the desirable choice for people living in Greater Manchester. Outside of work I am very active, enjoying walking, running, cycling and swimming. I have recently completed the Ironman triathlon and I enjoy trying new sports and activities for fun.
