Community Event Co-ordinator

Sharks Community Trust is currently looking to recruit a new Community Events Co-ordinator to join its successful team to assist delivering a number of its programme across Greater Manchester and the North West. The role will combine both organisational and administrative skills to help play a vital role in the development, organisation and delivery of key events which are pivotal to increasing revenue and participation for Sharks Community Trust and increasing the brand appeal of Sale Sharks.

Key responsibilities

  • To work with a range of Trust staff to deliver community events involving grassroots rugby including holiday camps, residential programme, skills clinics, touring groups and the Land Rover Cup. This includes identifying new event opportunities to increase both engagement and Trust income.
  • To plan and co-ordinate events at Sale Sharks home matches to promote match day activities to help increase revenue for Sharks Community Trust and ticket sales for Sale Sharks.
  • To plan and deliver events to help raise awareness and the profile of additional Sharks Community Trust programmes such as Sharks Forces and the Advantage Project.
  • To help create and establish strong relationships with stakeholders to develop and strengthen links to maximise the impact of Sharks Community Trust and the brand of Sale Sharks. This may include local rugby clubs, schools and corporate partners.
  • To assist the staff team with media and communication aspects of Sharks Community Trust events, including developing media releases to raise awareness of Sharks Community Trust delivery, the impact of the work and ultimately build the brand of Sale Sharks in the North West.
  • To be responsible for all matters of health and safety regarding Trust events including the completion of risk assessments, accident forms and safeguarding forms in line with the Trust’s safeguarding policy.
  • To organise a Sharks Community Trust presence at events organised by key partners and stakeholders including Trafford Live and events organised by Sale Sharks (e.g. annual BBQ and Business Club events).
  • To assist with other key events such as an annual fundraising dinner.
  • To work with the Community Development Manager to input and report on monitoring and evaluation associated with Sharks Community Trust events.
  • Assist in other areas of Sharks Community Trust delivery as and when required. It is expected that this post will include evenings and weekends work.
  • A valid driving license will be required along with access to a vehicle which can be used for work.
