Time on board – December 2014 to present

Why I joined the GreaterSport board - I was keen to give something back and at the same time to develop my personal skills with board experience. GreaterSport was a great fit because of its passion for changing lives through sport and physical activity and because Greater Manchester is where I live and I want to play a small part in helping to make this an even better place for my children to grow up.

Current Job – I have founded two businesses and juggle my time between them. RY Consulting is a sport and physical activity consultancy, and Switch the Play, is a social enterprise working with sports and athletes to support, educate and develop athletes to prepare, plan and manage their successful transition to life outside of sport.

Professional Background – My experiences have been shaped by my 5 years as an undergrad and postgrad at Loughborough University. Alongside over 10 years of consultancy experience, I spent an inspiring and tiring 6 years working on the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

Skills I bring – Strategic development; change management; building partnerships and open networks.

Areas of Expertise – Sport and physical activity policy and strategy; major event legacy; workforce development; athlete career transition.

Personal Interests - Anything to do with sport, especially Norwich City! Spending time with my wife and 3 young daughters. Travelling.
