At the 2017 Charity Times Awards, GreaterSport Chief Executive, Yvonne Harrison, won the Rising CEO Star award.
The award recognises dedication, professionalism and integrity throughout a short career, whilst producing an identifiably profound effect on the sector showing great potential going forward. Yvonne has been CEO of GreaterSport, a Greater Manchester charity aiming to change lives through Physical Activity and Sport, since 2014, within which time she has transformed the charity, altered perceptions of its agenda and changed the organisational culture. The Awards, run by Charity Times Magazine, are a celebration of best practice in the UK charity and not-for-profit sector. The Awards Gala and Ceremony were held at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, London on 4th October 2017 where Yvonne was selected from a shortlist of seven strong candidates from across the charity sector for this prestigious award.
Yvonne Harrison, commented;
'I feel so proud to receive this national award, a wonderful reflection of the impact I have made with the incredible support of my team, Board and family. It’s great that what we do is up there with the best in the Charity sector, not simply within physical activity and sport.'
This award comes 2 weeks after GreaterSport Chairman Chris Brindley was crowned the Non-Executive Director of the Year at the prestigious Institute of Directors (IOD) Awards. The award follows Chris' Special Recognition Award for his contributions as a Non-Executive Director at the 2017 North West Institute of Directors Awards.
