Junior parkrun in Oldham

Following the success of Oldham’s Alexandra parkrun which has held 295 events since 2010 an additional parkrun and junior parkrun are now running within Oldham. 

Chadderton Hall park launched on Saturday 23rd April. The first event saw 189 runners complete the 5km 4 lap course of which 36 were completely new to parkrun, representatives from 22 athletic clubs took part. Times ranged from elite runners completing the course in 17:48 minutes to two friends who walked the course for exercise and to catch-up in
1:07:17. It was great to see Oldham’s Alexandra parkrun also had a great turn out that day with 137 runners.
Overall, on the 23rd April Oldham’s parkrun’s saw 326 participants!

Oldham junior parkrun trial run is on Sunday 15th May at Alexandra Park Junior between 4 and 14 years can take part in the 2km run. This officially launches on Sunday 12th June at 9:00am

The additional parkrun and junior parkrun have been set up in partnership with, parkrun, GreaterSport, Oldham council’s Sport Development service, Oldham Community Leisure and Oldham Youth Council.
