“The wide variety of activities offered to pupils this year has meant the PE specialist had to deliver additional CPD to all staff. This has developed their confidence in delivering new activities and has allowed them to see the children in their class in a different light. (In past years the PE specialist teacher has delivered most of the intra school programme)  This increased confidence will impact the extra-curricular programme planned for next year as more teaching staff are willing to deliver lunchtime and after school clubs”

“The broader intra school offer this year has encouraged less confident young people to fully participate and develop an increased level of confidence in PE and school sport related activity. This has inspired more pupils to put themselves forward to be involved in the sports leadership programme for next year. One pupil in year 4 who has never been involved in PE and school sport before has said her ambition is to be able to support the teachers to organise the reception sports day”

“As a result of this new wide ranging participation based intra school focus the school have now appointed a lead teacher for well-being who will work alongside the PE lead teacher and PE specialist. Together they will develop more opportunities to engage in a schoolwide well-being programme. The school are also keen to develop their literacy and will use the intra school programme of PE related activities to inspire and develop young reporters, photographers and commentators."
