The latest Active Lives results published by Sport England show that 72.0% of adults in the region are active for at least 30 minutes a week, equating to 1,670,800 adults moving; an increase of 26,600 from the survey 12 months ago.

As we age, inactivity (less than 30mins a week) increases, with older adults being more than twice as likely to be inactive, 75+ years 54% and 55+ years 36.8% compared to 16-34 year olds 18.7% in GM.

Six in ten children and young people in Greater Manchester are not active enough. 35.8% of children and young people, on average, do less than 30 minutes of activity each day, with only 39.9% doing at least 60 minutes or more.
