An initial international community of practice and learning on whole system approaches to active lives for all was convened in early March 2023.

The aim is to develop an open and flexible network, bringing together practitioners, academics, policy makers, activists and all who have a part to play.

It will emerge, adapt and grow over the coming months and years to respond to the needs and the energy of it's people.

It is open to all, and particularly seeks diversity of place, voice, perspective, and role.

Purpose

  • To develop an international network where experience and learning is shared to support change in our work.
  • To stretch our thinking and learn from other parts of the world where people are taking a whole systems approach (to inactivity, but also in other transferable agendas)
  • To look at policy, practice, and evaluation. The learning that is emerging that can help to inform the work: where novel approaches to evaluation are shifting culture, systems, policy, and practice.

 Scope

  • Leading and learning to support active lives for all.
  • Whole systems approaches- from theory into practice.
  • Leading in complexity: what it takes and what we’re learning.
  • Working towards a community of practice made up of academics, practitioners, policy makers, strategists, and activists.
