Since June 2022, the Greater Manchester Women's Football Board has worked together to develop women's and girls' football at all levels. We have seen participation increase at the grassroots level, with more players on the pitch, female coaches on the sideline, and women referees supporting games to take place. At the same time, our professional teams across Greater Manchester have grown stronger, helping to form the base of the Lioness team that retained the Euros this Summer.
Building on the fantastic work that was completed by former chair Karen Bardsley, we are now looking to recruit a new chair to the Board who will take the taskforce to the next level. The position will play an active role in supporting the game and developing players, identify partnership and funding opportunities, and make recommendations on future facility plans across Greater Manchester.
The GMCA will act as the secretariat for the GMWFB, and the Board will report to the GMCA and the FA.
