Job role: Together with my job share, Kate Harding, I’m the Strategic Lead for Partnerships. My role is focussed on bringing partners together from across the system to achieve GM Moving’s aims. I’ll be working with the National Governing Bodies of sports to support their work in Greater Manchester; and with partners on facilities for sports and physical activity in Greater Manchester.

Professional background: I started my career in the Civil Service and spent ten years working in various central government departments, mainly in education policy roles, from early years education to adult skills. More recently, I co-facilitated a Poverty Truth Commission in Trafford (along with my job share partner Kate!), which was a great opportunity to work to tackle the issues faced by people experiencing poverty. I’m motivated to work to tackle inequalities, and see my role at GM Moving as an opportunity to do that on a Greater Manchester-wide basis. Outside of work I’m also a local councillor, which allows me to give something back to the community.

Fun fact: I’m a (very) occasional football translator and interpreter and once spent an afternoon interpreting a press conference for Paris Saint Germain when they were in town to play Man City in the Champions League.
