Oliver Thompson

Job role: To power the Marketing and Communications team in their ambition to share powerful public narrative and communications that engage and resonate with system-wide and community audiences through positive messaging, imagery, language and stories.

Date joined: Sept 2022

Professional background: I graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a degree in Environmental Management before taking a completely different route altogether and finding a job with Greater Manchester Police. I spent 9 years working for the GMP Media Team before moving to a UK-wide charity called V for Life. In both roles I was lucky to spend a lot of time working on some amazing campaigns that really made a difference at a grassroots level. 

Fun fact: I'm currently cycling the coastline of Britain in stages, doing a large chunk each year so I can really enjoy the journey. It involves a lot more hills than I thought and a demoralising amount of headwind but its been amazing so far, a real test of physical and mental strength. I'll let you know how I get on...
