GreaterSport is preparing to join The Daily Mile Foundation and Sport England for a mass participation event across England’s primary schools, that hopes to see one million young people taking part.

Taking place anytime from 09:00 – 15:00 on Friday 30th April, the event invites schools and bubbles, up and down the country, to do their Daily Mile on the same day - all in an effort to raise awareness for children’s mental health.

The campaign will hope to capture the camaraderie that we have missed while schools have been closed, and give young people the chance to think about their own mental health, through a series of fun activities.

And while the nation can’t be together in person, we can be together in spirit! The Daily Mile Foundation hope to bring England Does The Daily Mile to you, wherever you might be.

Elaine Wyllie, Founder of The Daily Mile, has said:
“The Daily Mile Foundation are thrilled to see supporters like GreaterSport backing England Does The Daily Mile. We want the children to have fun, and also highlight the importance of their mental health during these really difficult times.”

“Over the last year, young people have been missing their friends and that sense of connection. The Daily Mile has an important part to play in promoting young people’s wellbeing and this has never been more important. After weeks of isolation, we hope that England Does The Daily Mile can help bring us all closer together, wherever we might be.”

Schools can register for free here and will receive a fun, downloadable resource pack, as well as access to an exclusive classroom campaign, after the event. Can you help us to get one million moving?
