Support for employers to encourage and enable staff to move more is now available through our Active Workplaces Toolkit.
GM Moving’s refreshed Active Workplaces toolkit, designed to help employers to encourage and enable staff to move more, is now available to download.
The toolkit, available for free on our website as a PDF, demonstrates how to use the working day to help create happier, healthier employees and employers.
It is available to all employers in Greater Manchester, regardless of the size of their organisation, as part of our work to support active lives for all.
Physical activity plays a vital role in supporting everyone with health and wellbeing; whether it’s mental health, musculoskeletal conditions, sleep, or stress.
Every small, simple change that supports someone to move more throughout the working day, or on their commute, can lead to higher productivity and reduced absenteeism.
GM Moving’s Active Adults Lead, Julia Skelly, said:
“We saw lots of workplaces getting involved in the GM Walking Festival in May so it’s great to now have this updated Active Workplaces toolkit available to download.
“A more active workforce is a real win-win, it’s good for employers through higher productivity, and good for employees through better mood, wellbeing and health.”
Here's a strong example of GM Moving’s wider vision: creating positive movement experiences for everyone in Greater Manchester, rooted in community, equity, and joy.
Between July and September, Sport England is spotlighting ‘connecting communities’ from its Uniting the Movement strategy, showing how place-based approaches get people active in new ways. This highlights GM Moving’s work and our partnership with 10GM supporting VCSE groups across Greater Manchester.
We’re thrilled to be part of one of the official Fan Zones in Piccadilly Gardens, bringing people together to celebrate across two exciting match weekends.
