GreaterSport is seeking support from experienced individuals and organisations on two upcoming projects.
GreaterSport is a leading Greater Manchester charity, playing a strategic leadership role in support of GM Moving, the Greater Manchester wide movement for movement. They are seeking support from experienced individuals and organisations on two upcoming projects.
On behalf of The Greater Manchester Walking and Cycling Coordination and Advisory Group (WACCA), they are looking for expressions of interest from experienced organisations and individuals to collate system-wide lessons so they can meet local needs, boost community engagement and support Active Lives for All. Find the full brief here.
They welcome expressions of interest (EOI) from individuals or consortiums. For more details, contact Louise Robbins on [email protected] or 07740 883080 (except 22 December-2 January inclusive).
Proposals must be submitted to [email protected] by 12 pm (noon) on 3 January 2023.
They are also seeking short term project support to lead the coordination of the Greater Manchester Walking Festival 2023.
Launched by Transport for Greater Manchester in 2015, the GM Walking Festival is held each year during May (National Walking Month) and operates as a free, led-group walk offer supported by a promotional campaign. If you are passionate about walking and have experience of project and budget management, find the full brief and person specification here.
The role consists of approximately 50-60 days of work, worked part-time across 1-3 days a week from January to mid-June. It is anticipated that the most intense period will be February to April and it is likely to require up to three days a week during this time.
To book in an informal discussion about the Gm Walking Festival project for Friday 16th December or Monday 19th December, please contact Louise Robbins on [email protected].
Applications must be submitted to [email protected] by 11:59 pm (midnight) on Tuesday 3rd January 2023.
If these roles aren't right for you but you want to support GreaterSport's work and help them achieve the ambitions of both GM Moving in Action and Sport England’s Uniting the Movement, apply to be part of their consultancy support database. Find out how to do that here.
Here's a strong example of GM Moving’s wider vision: creating positive movement experiences for everyone in Greater Manchester, rooted in community, equity, and joy.
Between July and September, Sport England is shining a spotlight on one of the five big issues in its Uniting the Movement strategy – a deeper exploration of ‘connecting communities’, and how place-based approaches can bring people together to get active in non-traditional settings and ways. This spotlight offers a timely opportunity to reflect on the work of GM Moving and its long-standing partnership with 10GM — a collaboration of Local Infrastructure Organisations (LIOs) that support Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) groups across Greater Manchester.
We’re thrilled to be part of one of the official Fan Zones in Piccadilly Gardens, bringing people together to celebrate across two exciting match weekends.
