The Trafford Moving Conference takes on Friday 6 September at Waterside, 1 Waterside Plaza, Sale, M33 7ZF, and you’re invited.

This year, the conference will focus on how we realise our corporate priority to help residents move more, every day.

We’ll be looking at how we places can be put at the centre of our strategy to help to realise this ambition.

The conference will be split into two sessions.

The morning session (9.30am – 12pm) is for strategic leaders and decision makers, with Leader of the Council Cllr Tom Ross, Deputy Leader Cllr Cath Hynes, and Corporate Director for Place Richard Roe leading the discussion.

There will be a panel event followed by a Q&A, focused around how we can enable physical activity through our Place regeneration strategies.

The aim is to bring together leaders from the worlds of health, sport and grassroots physical activity, for an informative discussion to help identify any barriers to improving physical health and potential solutions to these.

After lunch, the afternoon session (1pm – 3.15pm) opens to operational partners.

We’re looking for people who are involved in delivering services and activities in a place, for example those working with sports clubs, schools, youth clubs and health centres.

The panel discussion will focus on how we develop community engagement with our place-based strategies, and ensure we are taking the community with us on our journey towards better physical activity provision.

Cllr Tom Ross, Leader of Trafford Council, said:

"I look forward to seeing as many people at the Trafford Moving Conference as possible.

"Whether you’re a senior leader in the fields of place or physical activity, or involved in day-to-day operations or community engagement work, book your place on our free conference to get involved in shaping the future of health and activities in Trafford and beyond.

"We want to hear your views and the views of communities across the borough, to help people to get moving more, no matter their age or background."

All tickets are free of charge, and refreshments will be provided.

Book your place on the Trafford Moving Conference.
