Data released today by Sport England reveals a significant decrease in the number of people moving both nationally and in Greater Manchester.
Sport England this morning released the latest Active Lives data for adults, covering May 2020 to May 2021. This survey period includes periods of both national and tiered restrictions which were introduced to counter the coronavirus pandemic.
The proportion of adults moving for at least 30 minutes a week in Greater Manchester is 69.5%, which equates to 4,573,400 adults.
This is a decrease of 48,300 (-2.4%) adults moving across the County compared to the previous 12 months.

We are awaiting a more detailed breakdown from Sport England and once this has been analysed will share further data on the impact of Covid-19 on activity levels in Greater Manchester and the 10 localities.
