GM Walking is looking for a GM-based partner to provide expertise and administration for the next round of the GM Walking & Wheeling Fund to increase walking and wheeling across our city region.
Come and help Greater Manchester Moving improve the health and wellbeing of communities in Greater Manchester by providing your expertise and administration to the GM Walking and Wheeling Fund.
The investment fund, supported by the Greater Manchester Integrated Care Partnership, aims to help people who are usually less active or inactive to walk or wheel regularly - by wheeling, we are referring to wheelchair users, people using a mobility aid, and people pushing a buggy.
To do this, the GM Walking and Wheeling Fund supports the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector to develop and deliver initiatives, driven by communities, that enable and empower everyday walking and wheeling.
The fund is part of Greater Manchester's shared ambition to enable more people to routinely walk, wheel and cycle for pleasure, personal or environmental benefit and travel convenience.
If you are interested in working with us on this, please provide a proposal (maximum four pages - see brief below) and send it to Carole Pollard ([email protected]) by 5pm on Monday 8 July.
Resource available: £100,000 (inclusive of your administration costs)
If you have any questions or would like a chat about the fund, please get in touch as follows:
A new partnership between GM Moving and The Scott Trust will see The Legacies of Enslavement programme commission groups to develop four new routes for the 2026 GM Walking Festival.
Support has been targeted towards the groups least likely to be active, providing opportunities for the visually impaired community, women and girls, older adults, and ethnically diverse communities.
