This project has been made possible through funding from the National Lottery Awards for All.
Walking Cricket makes cricket accessible to older adults (men and women aged over 50) and individuals who are semi–retired or retired. It is an adaptation of the traditional game of cricket to suit those with less mobility and caters for different abilities.
The sessions are led by a trained coach and start with gentle ball skill exercises which build up into a game, followed by a chat with complimentary refreshments.
This Pride month, we take a deeper look at LGBTQ+ people’s experiences of sport and physical activity and what we can all do to support these communities to be active.
To mark Pride 2025, we’re highlighting the incredible work of Manchester Laces, a club that’s showing how football can be truly welcoming and inclusive.
