TfGM are launching Wheels and Walks, a new programme that supports people in Greater Manchester to become more active by walking, wheeling and cycling.

Community groups will be supported to deliver walking, wheeling and cycling activities for people in their local area.

The support provided as part of the programme is intended to facilitate sustained activity after programme funding has ended, so that people can continue to benefit from these activities into the future.

Successful applicants will receive:

  • Grant funding of up to £5,000.
  • Training and development opportunities.
  • Opportunities to participate in networking and knowledge sharing.
  • General support and advice.

Applications for the Wheels and Walks programme will be open in three phases:

  • Phase 1: 27 January 2025 date to 17 March 2025 (open now)
  • Phase 2: Open from September to October 2025*
  • Phase 3: Open from March to April 2026*

* Dates for phase 2 and 3 applications will be announced closer to the time.
