The Pass On Your Passion campaign has been celebrating the female workforce that make sport and physical activity happen across the north of England. Starting in Yorkshire in September the campaign has reached its final week here in Greater Manchester and will see women share their stories of how they overcame their own barriers to get involved in volunteering.
Working in an office can see employees spending up to 75% of their time sitting down. The good news is that 95% of these workers want to reduce this.
45.2% of children and young people are now achieving an average of 60 minutes of physical activity a day. Whilst more than three in ten are failing to achieve 30 minutes of activity a day.
In Bolton 54.1% of children and young people are not achieving an average of 60 active minutes per day, which means that just under half are doing enough activity to stay healthy.
Research released today by Sport England shows that there are now 45.2% of children & young people active for at least 60 minutes a day in Greater Manchester, which equates to 176,700 young people.
