Salford Adult Activity Levels November 2018-19

The latest Active Lives results published by Sport England shows that 76.7% of adults in Salford are active for at least 30 minutes a week, this equates to 155,600 adults moving. This is an increase of 5,800 from the survey 12 months ago.

23.3% inactive, 11.9% fairly active, 64.8% active

These results continue the positive trend in Salford, there has been an increase of 7.8%% in the number of adults moving (active and fairly active) since Active Lives launched in November 2015-16. This is a greater increase than both England (1.0%) and Greater Manchester (2.3%).

Changes in inactivity

Since the first Active Lives release, (November 2015-16), Salford has seen a decrease in inactivity levels across all cohorts. The largest decreases in inactivity have been amongst those with a long term limiting disability with a 13.0% decrease, those from lower income categories, an 11.6% decrease, and those aged 35-54, a 10.1% decrease.
