28.9% inactive, 11.2% fairly active, 59.9% active

These results continue the positive trend in Rochdale, with the proportion of the adult population who are moving now being at its highest level. There has been an increase of 5.6% in the number of adults moving (active and fairly active) since Active Lives launched in November 2015-16, this is a greater increase than both England (1.0%) and Greater Manchester (2.3%).

Since the first Active Lives release, (November 2015-16), Rochdale has seen a decrease in inactivity levels across the majority of cohorts. The exception to this being those from lower income categories. The largest decreases in inactivity have been amongst those aged 75+ with an 11.0% decrease, those with a long term limiting disability, a 7.5% decrease, and those aged 16-34, a 6.7% decrease.
